Our school hosts a published author one day each year. We’ve been blessed with some really top notch folks over time. I’m not one for dropping names so I’ll spare you, but generally they have won some award and have a legitimate claim to fame.
This year, we are fortunate enough to have Jerry Pallotta coming to visit us. I only
make mention of his name because it is a critical piece of the story…
As many of you know, I teach kindergarten by day and coach teachers by night. It’s a full life, but one that never ceases to entertain!
So the other day, during my “day job,” I was welcoming back a little girl who has been out for several days due to strep throat. Her older sister attends our school and apparently had been telling the younger sister she needed to bring me a dollar to pay for the author’s visit.
My cherub comes into the classroom on her first day back and says, with the biggest most beautiful smiling brown eyes you’ve ever seen, “My sister said I need to give you this dollar for the man whose coming and his name is Arthur.”
Welcome Jerry Pallotta aka Arthur!
