The first week of August, I had the privilege of working with educators from 22 states and 4 foreign countries in Chicago, Illinois. It was completely exciting! I was presenting at the National Conference for Users of Everyday Mathematics.
Along with presenting, I got to participate in the conference when the authors of Everyday Math did their question and answer session. They also joined us for cocktails. It was a tremendous experience to interact with such a talented group in such an informal way.
Along with that wonderful experience, I’ve been traveling like a wild woman training teachers to use the Everyday Math curriculum most effectively.
This week I’ve been in Pikeville, Kentucky; Streamwood, Illinois and Logan, West Virginia. August is an extremely busy month getting everyone ready to go back to school. I am so thankful for my family which is understanding of all this travel and how everyone pitches in to help keep the house and lives running smoothly while I am away.
Hang in there guys! Mom’s coming home real soon.
