Here we go. The big shopping extravaganza has begun; but what about the reasons for the season? What about the soul work that needs to be done? This year I feel the need to understand a bit more about the four tenets of the season: hope, preparation, joy, and love. In my childhood home, we did not light the candles of the Advent wreath. So I have no experience with this sort of spiritual ritual. But, last year my friend, Deb Smouse, spent the four weeks of Advent explaining the tenets in her weekly ezine; one each week. It was so fascinating to me. So this year as I felt my soul yearning for meaning, I was ecstatic to learn that Deb had actually put together a journaling program centered on Advent.
After Deb and I talked about the program, we came to the conclusion that we should share it with you. If you are looking for a way to journey into your soul please check out this opportunity. As I said, I loved the short info bites Deb shared last year and now she’s developed her journaling ideas to help us get ourselves in order throughout the season.
In Deb’s own words, “The Advent Series is a spiritual journey for the soul exploring the tenets of Hope, Preparation, Joy and Love.” Powerful eh?
For this week’s Zap of Wynn, I am sharing with you an interview with Deb. I asked her to share about the journaling program so you could hear firsthand what it is and how it works. I’m in for the season and excited to get started.
I hope you’ll enjoy the interview. Even if you are not quite ready to take on the journaling activities, I believe you’ll be inspired by the process of the Advent season.
Grab a cup of coffee, tea or glass of wine, water… join Deb and I as we talk about Advent and she tells you first-hand about this opportunity.
