Celebrating Birthdays

Do you look forward to your birthday?

Do you wish it would just slide by?

Well around here there’s a birthday about every other week. My husband and I are each one of five children. Several of our siblings are married and have a few kids. There are even grand babies beginning to roll in. You see my point. Birthdays, birthdays, birthdays…

This month we celebrated some special ones. Most recently, my youngest son had an early

celebration- he’s turning 11. We coupled it with my nephew’s birthday. He’s turning 19. That’s what we do around here: double up. Almost everyone has a partner to share his/her birthday with.

Before that, we did celebrate my brother’s 50th. He, of course, got his own party because this is a milestone birthday.

No matter how  you celebrate them birthdays are events to be remembered- even if you remember it late. The day you came forth to the Earth was special. Lives were changed. Celebrate your day. Look back over your past year and celebrate the events- even the painful ones. Commit to making the next year your best. Decide to create the life you want in the next 365 days. Then be ready to celebrate it one year from that day- when once again those around you want to say, “Happy Birthday.”
