is a leadership training company dedicated to bringing personal growth and professional development together to create sharp people. But why the name? Why not pick something more corporate or power focused?
Glad you asked!
The reason: this name came to me when I was about 12 years old.
It happened one morning. My dad was heading out the door for work dressed in his usual suit and tie while I was finishing up my breakfast cereal at our kitchen table. On his way out the door he quoted to me the Gillette slogan from 1952, “Look sharp. Feel sharp. Be sharp.”
At the time, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with that idea. But- it stuck.
A far cry from a razor company who in the 50’s used a Parrot named Sharpie to do its advertising, Bee Sharp was built and remains true of the basic tenants of being “sharp” in your work and play. However, we do it from the inside out. We believe that personal growth and professional development work together to make a person- well, sharp.
When you see our logo and hear our name we hope you’ll join with us in our modern day mission summed up as: Learn with Passion. Live with Character. Lead with Confidence.
Like all companies we’ve grown in our mission and definition. We’ve tweaked ourselves along the way. In the early days, our motto was “train sharp, teach sharp, bee sharp.” But our progression and growth as a company has given us our own footing and sharpened our mission.
Alas, as we move into the embodiment of our 21st century mission, our foundation and history is solidly built on the wise advice given from father to daughter to “look sharp, feel sharp, be sharp.”

We’re on a mission…
to develop the Grand Strand into a transformation destination.
You may be asking what’s a “transformation destination?” Great question because we believe we coined the term. Yep! It’s that new.
A transformation destination is vacation location that provides such an amazing community culture to its visitors that when they leave they are inspired to transform their own communities to emulate what they experienced while on vacation.
We believe the Grand Strand has the potential to be the world’s first transformation destination.
What will it take?
Bee Sharp, lead by its founder Wynn Godbold, has established a vision to raise a community of leaders across the seven spheres of influence:
- business/financials/real estate
- government/law enforcement
Working with a coalition of independent certified John Maxwell trainers, speakers, and coaches Wynn will provide leadership training to all facets of the community along the Grand Strand so that no matter where our visitors sleep, eat, shop, play, worship, learn, receive services, or interact with officials they will experience a degree of service that far exceeds their highest expectation of excellence.
“Everything rises and falls on leadership.” John Maxwell This is why we must raise up the entire community.

Wynn Godbold is an author and independent certified John Maxwell Leadership speaker, trainer, and coach. She started her company, Bee Sharp, in 2004 and began doing education training on the east coast. From 2011-2016 Wynn found herself crisscrossing America several times a month as demands for her services grew. While this life seemed exciting, on the inside Wynn was growing a desire to serve the people of her home town. She began to ask the question, “Why spend all this time on the road and in the air when I could be changing lives in my own backyard?”
In response to this yearning to make a difference at home, she was given a vision for developing the Grand Strand into the world’s first transformation destination. She now walks in faith seizing the opportunities to raise leaders and change the world one visitor at a time.
Wynn has been a resident of the Grand Strand since her graduation from Winthrop College in 1990. She thought she was coming to the beach for a summer before starting her career. After marrying a “local,” Rett, and raising two boys in Myrtle Beach, Matthew and Cooper, she declares there is no other place for her to call home. Wynn loves the people of the Grand Strand and feels blessed to live in such a vibrant community which welcomes 17 million visitors each year.
Wynn believes every step in her history has uniquely equipped her to fulfill the mission of developing the Grand Strand and she welcomes everyone to share the vision, mission, and team work.
Family: Wynn lives in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with her husband Rett and one son, Cooper. They enjoy the family dog, JR and coexist with two cats: Stinks and Reese Puff. Their eldest son, Matthew, is currently serving in the United States Air Force and live away from home.
